This one-day workshop is designed to enable education innovation in your institution by engaging with a global community of educators. The workshop will bring a global perspective and local context to four critical dimensions of institutional transformation: Curriculum, delivery, assessment and certification.
The next three decades are not going to be like the last thirty years! We have entered a new machine age, when automation has reached a tipping point and technology has unveiled enormous opportunities and terrifying prospects for the humanity.
The dream of a flat world is over – regional differences are growing, global value chains are shrinking and the world economy is fragmenting. Population growth has stalled and we are staring at the prospect of demographic decline.
How does Higher Education leaders respond to this change? Young people across the world pin their hope of good life on degrees. Older professionals seek to adjust themselves to the changing workplace through lifelong learning.
Leaders of nations expect higher education to play an ever-expanding role, to boost national competitiveness, help industrial development, and provide the hope of progress to the masses. Yet, the formats, the ideas and the regulations do not change.
How, then, must we think about higher education? How should we reform curricula when knowledge is transient and expertise is ephemeral? How should we think of education delivery in the context of a 24x7 information environment?
How must we assess the student’s progress to make it meaningful for all stakeholders? And what is the future of the degree – or the way we certify the students – when employers are looking for clearer signs of capability from the credentials they hold?
These questions will be discussed in the Future of Education workshops. These will bring together global good practices and local context and policy imperatives. We will discuss how other sectors are changing and how we must transform our classroom experiences. Together, we would build a conversation that can propel our institutions into leadership positions within the sector
